Assessment of Service Delivery Points & Training Needs for Emergency Obstetric Care Services
Purpose:
To analyze the existing situation which will be a basis for the organization of emergency obstetrics care (EOC) services. In order to identify the infrastructure, equipment/supplies, personnel and training needs for service delivery points providing EOC services, an Assessment Form which will guide the evaluation will be developed.
Objectives:
- Assessment of service delivery points to develop a basis for works on arranging of emergency obstetric services to be conducted within the framework of SRH Programme;
- Assessment of training needs on EOC services in the second level.
Tasks:
- Develop Service Delivery Point Assessment Form (SDPAF).
- Conduct an assessment using the developed form in the first and second level health facilities of two provinces out of six selected provinces where the initiative of organization of EOC services within the framework of SRH programme.
- Monitor the services of hospitals carefully for 24 hours to enable the identification of obstacles to holistic service provision and sustainability and of the duration and the contents for on the job trainings.
- Suggest a methodology and timetable to provide the implementation of SDPAF to be conducted in all service points, and so that the completion of the situation analysis.
